Freckled Laundry is visiting today!

I am so excited about today's post - Jami from Freckled Laundry is my guest blogger!

(I will be featuring each of the amazingly talented ladies at Wild Rose in future posts, and Jami has so kindly agreed to kick-start these vendor introductions. If you aren't already hooked on Jami's blog and products - read on, and soon you will!)

Tell me a little bit about yourself and your line.
I'm Jami, a blog author, designer, {leisurely} interior stylist, and a work-from-home mother of toddler twins and a third-grader.

My line, freckled laundry, includes handmade wares for you and your home that often have signature touches of re-purposed or vintage and antique laundry (textiles). My line reflects the vintage chic style that I look to create in my own home.

Here are some of my wares that I'm so honored to be selling at Wild Rose & Co.!

Handmade, natural clay tags.
Handmade baby shoes.

I recently created a lavender and laundry collection that includes lavender dipped letters, lavender garland, lavender pillows, lavender and ruffled clothespins, wall flowers, and French "lavande" tags
and magnets.

I also have a small collection of chalkboard place mats and runners.

Do you have plan to introduce other things to the shop?
Sure. I'm always inspired to grow and create something new. I'll be selling petite and large number tags very soon, as well as laundry rose hair pins and rings. I am also working on homemade, organic lavender laundry soap and linen spray, ruffled shower curtains, and cotton jersey throws and chair hugs. I will also be combining laundry and rabbit wire to create shabby & vintage-inspired wall pockets, storage baskets, photo displays, etc.

How did you come up with the name of your line?
I adore simple, natural textiles like hemp linen and cotton. If you look closely at them, you will usually find little specks and spots of natural imperfections; like little freckles woven throughout. That's the freckled thought behind freckled laundry. (I also have freckles.) My use of re-purposed, vintage, and antique textiles is the laundry inspiration behind freckled laundry.

What’s your background?
I've always had an artful, creative heart and graduated from Ithaca College with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts. I taught middle school Art for one year in Florida. I returned to New York and spent some time as a graphic designer at a marketing communications firm before transitioning to a more involved role as an Account Executive. I eventually left the world of marketing and advertising and entered pharmaceutical sales before realizing that although successful, I was never truly meant to do any of those things. I made the decision to stay home to raise my children, live frugally, and pursue my dream for freckled laundry.

If you had to use only one word to describe yourself, what would it be?
Dreamer.

What inspires you to create?
I find inspiration everywhere...blogs, websites, magazines, nature, my children, within; you name it. I'm often inspired by simplicity, shabby chic and French decor, and textiles. Sometimes I'll create something to fit the laundry that I've found. Lavender is a staple in my home so lately, I've been inspired to create unique designs to incorporate lavender into decor besides sachets and bundles.

Professionally, what’s your goal?
My ultimate goal is create a well-loved brand and a signature line of textiles and home decor.

What is your dream project?
Designing my own fabric line.

Fun question: What type of music to listen to when you're creating?
I could listen to David Gray's "Please Forgive Me" on repeat play for hours. I also love Edith Piaf, Zepplin, Peter Tosh, Johnny Cash, Coldplay...Clearly, all very different from one another!

Thank you so much for including me in the Wild Rose & Co. family, Lynette! I'm surrounded by such talented designers and beautiful people. I appreciate you having me over at the new blog and I wish you all the best with it. ~ Jami
